Nominations for the PUPS-UAW Bargaining Committee are currently open. In order to be eligible to accept nomination or vote in the election, you must have filled out a PUPS-UAW authorization card. You can sign a card now at this link if you haven’t already.
All eligible bargaining unit members who are currently employed by Princeton University and have filled out a PUPS-UAW authorization card are automatically nominated for the PUPS-UAW Bargaining Committee.
In order to run as a candidate in the election for Bargaining Committee, you must accept your nomination via email no later than 5pm on Monday, June 24th, 2024. To accept your nomination for one of the seven positions, email elections@princetonpostdocunion.org with the subject line, “I accept my nomination for PUPS-UAW Bargaining Committee.”

Candidate statements:
Each candidate may write and submit a candidate statement of no more than 250 words. These statements will be posted on the PUPS-UAW website if there is a contested election. Phone number and email address must be included, but will not be counted toward the 250 words.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to submit your candidate statement by email to elections@princetonpostdocunion.org. All candidate statements must be received by the time nominations close at 5pm on Monday, June 24th, 2024.
Election Dates, Times and Locations:
In the event that the number of eligible candidates who accept nomination does not exceed seven (7), such candidate(s) will be deemed elected by acclamation and no election will be held.
If more than seven (7) eligible candidates accept nomination, an election will be conducted with the seven (7) candidates who receive the highest number of votes being elected. All eligible bargaining unit members (all Princeton University Postdoctoral Research Associates, Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Associate Research Scholars, Senior Research Assistants, and Postgraduate Research Associates who are currently employed by the University) who have filled out a PUPS-UAW authorization card are eligible to vote. Members of the bargaining unit who have not done so may fill out an authorization card prior to 11:59pm on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 in order to be eligible to vote.
The election will take place electronically on Monday, July 1st, 2024, from 12:00am-11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time.
Voters shall be entitled to vote for a total of seven (7) candidates.
