Take a few minutes to fill out the PUPS-UAW Bargaining Survey!

Since winning our union election by an overwhelming 84.5%, we have continued to prepare for our negotiations with the Princeton Administration. Most recently, we started to collect bargaining surveys from a majority of postdocs to shape our collective priorities and elected a Bargaining Committee. Based on these surveys, our bargaining committee will draft initial bargaining goals, which all postdocs will have the opportunity to ratify before negotiations with Princeton begin.

We ask all postdocs to fill out the bargaining survey below in order to form the most representative bargaining goals possible. When filling out the survey, please keep the following things in mind:

  • Some topics in the survey may already exist at Princeton, however, until we negotiate them into a  legally binding contract, we have no way to enforce these policies and Princeton can unilaterally change or withdraw them at any time. With a union contract, we can both protect what we already have as well as make improvements.

  • Our goal is to strengthen conditions for ALL postdocs through our contract. Even if some items might not affect you personally, we ask you to consider the effect this has on your fellow postdocs who are impacted and what rights and protections you think would be important for all postdocs to have access to in our contract.

  • We want our contract to be responsive to as many of our collective priorities as possible. Please use the comment sections to add or expand on anything that is important to you or any examples you would like to share with our bargaining committee. The more details we have the better!
