Yesterday we had our 6th bargaining session with Princeton. As usual, five postdoc observers joined us in the room following the administration’s unreasonable resistance to limiting the observer numbers. We are happy to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement on the Union Management Committee article, bringing us another step closer to winning our first union contract!
We also presented our responses to Princeton’s counter-proposals on Job Posting, Employment Records, and Workspace and Materials, in addition to introducing the Wellness and Recreation article where we ask for access to the SHARE office, access to dining halls and meal plan options, as well as free gym membership. Following that, we received two (2) additional counter-proposals from Princeton on Waiver and Recognition, and then further discussed their changes.
Our next bargaining session will be Tuesday, February 4th at 9am. Click here to RSVP to attend a future session as an observer. Currently, we are still waiting for Princeton’s response on 21 more articles that are closely related to our working conditions. All of our proposals and Princeton’s replies can be found in our bargaining tracker.
Again, we encourage you to use our testimonial submission form to share any experiences or difficulties at Princeton. Your story could help strengthen our arguments for strong rights and protections in our union contract and prevent similar cases from happening in the future. If you fill out the form, a fellow postdoc will follow up with you to talk more about your story.
