Submit a testimonial about your experience at Princeton

We had our 7th bargaining session with Princeton yesterday, joined by 5 postdoc observers. We started the session by presenting our counter proposal on Waiver to management, including language to better reinforce postdocs’ rights to bargain over potential future changes to working conditions. We also received six counter-proposals from management; Professional Development & TrainingEmployment RecordsWorkspace & MaterialsJob PostingUnion Access & Rights, and Parking & Transit. While we are happy to make progress on the table with productive discussions and exchange of concerns from both parties, we are also disappointed by Princeton’s lack of interest in addressing our suggested improvements on Parking & Transit.

We are also still waiting for Princeton to respond to our proposals on high-priority issues such as Appointment & ReappointmentsProhibition Against Discrimination and Harassment, and International Researcher Rights.

Now and in the future it will be essential for postdocs to demonstrate our commitment to improving these issues both at and away from the table. You can use the testimonial submission form to share any experiences or difficulties at Princeton that could help strengthen our arguments for strong rights and protections in our union contract. We will also be holding an organizing training on Thursday, Feb 13 at 5pm where you can learn how to get involved with talking to coworkers and building power in our negotiations. RSVP here!
