It’s official: We’ve filed for our union election! Yesterday, we submitted over 700 signed union authorization cards to the National Labor Relations Board to petition to hold an election to form our union, PUPS-UAW.

On Monday, postdocs rallied to celebrate reaching super majority support and to deliver our letter signed by over 140 of our coworkers requesting that the Princeton administration agree to a fair and speedy election process.

Additionally on Monday, several postdoc organizers released an op-ed in the Daily Princetonian about our unionization effort.

Now, we await Princeton admin’s response to our petition. We hope that they will do the right thing by agreeing to a fair and speedy process that will allow postdocs and scholars to hold our union election as soon as possible.

We are grateful to everyone who has made this moment possible by signing on to the open letter, attending the letter delivery, signing authorization cards, and having conversations with coworkers. It’s going to take all of us to make this effort a success! If you’d like to get more involved or learn more about how to talk to colleagues about our union effort, please join us for a meeting next Wednesday, April 9 at 5pm – RSVP here.

In solidarity,

PUPS-UAW Organizing Committee
